EastEnders’ Danielle Harold teases new role after emotional soap exit
EASTENDERS actress Danielle Harold has given fans a sneak peek at her new project following her exit from Walford.
Soap fans watched in tears as Danielle bid farewell to EastEnders at the end of May when her character Lola tragically died.
Lola had been battling an inoperable brain tumour and the scenes left viewers – and her co-stars – in floods.
But Danielle has now moved onto a new role and has shared a sneaky behind-the-scenes look with her fans.
Taking to Instagram, the actress filmed a quick pan around a dressing room.
The star can be spotted sat in the mirror getting glammed up, while a man with a camera stands close by filming her.
Danielle has given no further details of what she is preparing to shoot and has instead left it for her excited followers to guess.
Last month, EastEnders fans watched through tears as Lola’s funeral was played out on screen.
BBC bosses even changed the end credits to honour the character, with a special version of Alphaville’s Forever Young airing.
Danielle had starred as Lola in EastEnders since 2011 before bowing out earlier this year.
Show insiders revealed that she was left crying after learning of her character’s tragic fate, but then saw it as a positive thing for her career.
She told the Daily Star: “EastEnders has been such a big part of my life, but I can’t wait to start something new. I want to work on other things and play other characters.
“I can’t wait to get out there and see what’s possible.
“I’d love to do a drama. I want to do something completely different to soaps. I’d love to get back to doing some films as well.”
Earlier this month, Danielle reunited with her EastEnders co-stars on a celebrity special episode of game show The Weakest Link.
