I was body-shamed by my Hinge date who took me hiking the first time we met – it was the most awkward thing ever
FIRST dates are always a little bit awkward, but one woman was stunned when her hinge match ended the date by body-shaming her.
After chatting with the guy for a while on the dating app, Grace, from Australia, decided to meet up with him to see if they’d hit it off
The pair decided to meet up at a local pizza restaurant and things were going well.
During the date, Grace only ate a one or two slices of pizza, since she wasn’t that hungry in the first place.
“He pull the whole ‘what, are you on a diet? Why aren’t you eating’ thing,” Grace explained on TikTok.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, the bloke then took her on an uphill walk, even though she was wearing uncomfortable shoes and skirt.
“Walking in this slippery mud, uphill was not fun,” she fumed.
But, to make matters worse, Grace had also recently been diagnosed with a hear condition, which means she gets breathless easily.
“He knew about this because we had discussed it,” she said.
In fact, the topic even came up during dinner, so it was still fresh in his mind when he suggested the walk.
So, when the couple finished the walk and Grace was panting for breath, she felt a bit awkward about the whole thing.
She explained: “We were sitting in this completely, dead silent car and I’m gasping for breath.”
In a bid to end the awkward silence, Grace told her date that her hear condition makes her seem more unfit than she really is.
But that didn’t land well with her date, who replied telling her to ‘go to the gym if you don’t want people to think that.’
After sharing her experience online, other singletons chimed in agreeing he was so rude.
One said: “Wow, well we all understand how he’s still single.”
A second commented: “I’m so mad for you! The audacity of some people.”
