CT man gets prison for sexual videos of teen. He also was convicted of sex trafficking at Super Bowl
A New Haven man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for recording videos of himself having sex with a teenage girl after she ran away from her foster home, according to federal authorities.
He is already serving another sentence for sex trafficking people from Connecticut to Florida during the Super Bowl in 2020, federal authorities said.
Edward Walker, 50, appeared in court in Hartford on Tuesday and was sentenced to the decade in prison followed by 10 years of supervised release for making videos of the 16-year-old girl in Connecticut, authorities said.
He is currently serving a 25-year sentence in federal prison after being convicted of sex trafficking crimes in Florida, according to the U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
Walker pleaded guilty in April to child pornography charges after evidence showed he used his cell phone to record videos of him having sex with the teen, who was dependent on him for certain necessities, in June and July of 2019, officials said.
Judge Michael P. Shea , who handed down the sentence, ordered that the 10 years will run concurrently with the lengthier sentence Walker is serving for crimes in Florida’s Southern District, officials said.
Walker was sentenced in Fort Lauderdale in January 2022 for bringing two adult women and a 17-year-old girl to Miami from Connecticut and coercing them to sell themselves for sex during Super Bowl LIV, in January 2020, officials said.
Walker emotionally, psychologically and financially coerced the victims into finding customers and having sex with them in exchange for money, all of which he kept, records show.
Additional evidence presented at his eight-day jury trial showed that he made plans to take the women and girl to Chicago during the NBA All-Star game, to New Orleans during Mardi Gras and to Las Vegas to sexually exploit them further, authorities said.
A jury found him guilty of sex trafficking by force and coercion, sex trafficking of a minor by force and coercion and transporting a person for sexual activity, authorities said.
His federal sentence will be followed by 25 years of supervised release, authorities said.
