The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (Cocomi) on Thursday opposed the attempt to bury the bodies of Kukis at Torbung, which Meiteis claim to be their area, on August 3. Cocomi, a valley-based civil society group, claimed that the same is a provocation for further violence in the conflict-torn state. The group stated that slain Kukis cannot be buried at the Sericulture Firm in Torbung Bangla in Bishnupur district beyond the Churachandpur district boundary.
