India's Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh has introduced a bill in the Lok Sabha to establish a national research agency to support and develop research and innovation across universities, colleges, research institutions and R&D laboratories. The Anusandhan National Research Foundation Bill-2023 seeks to create a Rs 50,000 crore fund, with contributions from the private sector, and to cultivate an atmosphere of research and development.
