I use a cheap kitchen essential to deodorize my home – it even works on stinky shoes, just refresh them every week
A LIFESTYLE producer has shared her clever hack that promises to deodorize your home.
She used a cheap kitchen essential and it was so effective that it even worked on stinky shoes.
But you had to remember to refresh them every week.
“The cleaning hack we didn’t know we needed,” said The Kitchn (@thekitchn).
This TikToker has a large following of 295,000 plus another 2.6 million likes.
This post was a slight departure from her usual content, which features ideas to “inspire cooks [and] nourish homes.”
But it did involve a kitchen storecupboard essential plus one other surprising element.
“Did you know your coffee filters could turn into room deodorizers?” she asked.
“Grab a filter, add a few tablespoons of baking soda then tie it up.”
She then distributed the cute little parcels around her home to dispel and absorb lingering odors.
“Add them behind your trash can, in corners of rooms, and even in your stinky shoes.”
It was an economical way of keeping your home’s aromas natural.
“It’s a quick and cheap way to get things smelling fresh again,” she wrote.
“After a week replace the baking soda to keep things fresh.”
Commenters were amazed they had never heard of this simple idea before.
“Whaaaaattt? I didn’t know that,” said this person.
“Handy,” was the brief response from another.
This viewer, however, knew what to put on their shopping list: “Me running to get more coffee filters.”
