Leaders of the opposition INDIA bloc have welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to stay the conviction of Rahul Gandhi in a defamation case, stating that it reinforces their trust in India's democracy and judiciary. The decision paves the way for the revival of Gandhi’s Lok Sabha membership. Mamata Banerjee, Chief Minister of West Bengal, tweeted that she was happy with the news and that it was a victory for the judiciary.
