Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of 508 railway stations as part of the 'Amrit Bharat Station Scheme'. Among the 37 such stations in West Bengal to be redeveloped include Sealdah, Malda Town and Rampurhat Junction. The PMO said the design of station buildings will be inspired by local culture and heritage. Launched in December 2020, the Amrit Bharat station scheme aims to enhance the facilities and prepare a master plan for railway stations in a phased manner.
