India's aviation security group (ASG) has received 6,500 new personnel over the past 18 months to deal with increasing passenger numbers and the expansion of existing and new airports. The ASG, a specialist arm of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), now has an overall strength of 37,000 troops, including commando-trained personnel.
