Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah has urged sugar mills in the Maharashtra state to make ethanol, saying that there should not be a single sugar mill in the region not powering the market. Shah added that the emerging market provides good rates and that huge funding is available under various schemes for cooperative societies to establish distilleries.
