I’m a professional cleaner and you’ve been cleaning your house all wrong, there are seven mistakes everyone makes
CLEANING is somewhat of a no brainer, with little that could go wrong, right?
Well apparently not according to one professional cleaner who has revealed the biggest mistakes that everyone makes when it comes to the house work.
Taking to Reddit one hapless homeowner asked insiders to reveal what people get wrong in the cleaning department.
And one professional was all too happy to answer.
Responding in the comments they revealed the seven things she wished people would do in their own homes.
Listing the common errors, she wrote:
- Not cleaning top to bottom
- Using the wrong products, such as acidic products on marble and stone
- Not cleaning on top, under and the sides of furniture
- Never cleaning exhaust fans filters (they get GROSS)
- Scrubbing too hard and/or using products that are too aggressive, thus damaging the items instead of cleaning them
- Not washing cloths, sponges and mops often enough
- Not using a designated sponge to clean the toilet THAT MUST BE USED ONLY FOR THE TOILET.
Fellow professionals were quick to weigh in and support her advice while providing a few extra tips of their own.
Commenting on the thread, one said: “You have to clean more than just the front facing surfaces of things. When is the last time you cleaned the top edge of your refrigerator door?”
Another added: “Stuffing smaller items inside larger ones is not really cleaning or organising.
“Every item should have a designated spot. So don’t try to hide your things instead of organising them.”
