A View From The Dugout
A hard fought victory against a robust Montrose team.
Montrose started slightly the better team and caused a couple of early problems until we settled and got into our rhythm again we punished a mistake by pressing high and being clinical, we added a second which at the time was well deserved and we needed to manage game.
The instructions were not to be complacent and unfortunately that’s exactly what we became conceding a poor first goal then giving away a penalty that i would need to look at again, I also thought that we could have had two penalties our self, again I would need to review the footage of these.
The game became very scrappy and couple of changes paid an immediate impact a great ball by Jamie turned the defender with Sam squaring to the on rushing fuzz to give us the lead back.
A slack bit of play with moments to go almost allowed Montrose an opportunity to equalise had it not been for a cynical match saving clip of the heals from Dan smith which unfortunately resulted in a straight red.
The aim was 3 points and that’s what we got however the overall performance was not what we demand and it’s clear we need to make slight improvements in decision making.
That’s 3 wins on bounce and a bit of momentum which is what I have asked.
Again thank you to the fantastic support at Laing park today and we look forward to welcoming you back next week.
Cheers
