Heart-stopping moment reality show contestant is confronted by a BEAR on Channel 4’s Alone
A CONTESTANT on Channel 4’s new reality show Alone is confronted by a bear within hours of being left in the wilderness.
The new series sees 11 members of the public take on the ultimate test of survival in the Canadian wilderness on the fringes of the Arctic Circle.
The participants are given 10 survival items each person must fend for themselves and survive for as long as possible whilst filming their own adventure.
The rules are simple but uncompromising: the last person standing wins £100,000.
Among the contestants on the Channel 4 show is Naomi, a 26-year-old clothing designer and mum from London.
She manages to get a make-shift tent built on her first night, but is kept awake by terrifying sounds outside.
As she films in the dark she says that her “senses are already being heightened”.
The noise outside her tent continues and she says: “I don’t know what the f*** that was.”
There are over 3,000 bears in the wilderness where the contestants are strategically dropped, and one of them ends up outside Naomi’s tent.
Terrified, she shouts out for it to go away, and the camera picks up the movement of the bear right near her.
Thankfully, she makes it through the night unscathed but admits the next day: “Last night was the scariest night of my life.”
She also worries about the fact the bear now knows where she is and says: “I’ve got to protect myself and fast.”
Alone begins on Sunday, August 6 at 9pm on Channel 4.
