1 killed, 19 injured in traffic accident in Afghanistan’s Zabul

At least one person was killed, and 19 others were injured as a passenger bus overturned on the Kabul-Kandahar highway on Sunday, officials said.

The incident occurred around 6:00 am in the Shahr-e-Safa district of Zabul, the southern province of Afghanistan.

According to provincial police spokesperson Zabihullah Jawhar, the person who died was the bus driver, and those injured included women and children.

Meanwhile, the injured people were taken to the Mirwais Hospital in Kandahar province.

Three people died, and five others were injured in a traffic accident in the Samangan province.

The incident took place after the vehicle turned turtle on the Samangan-Baghlan highway.

The current upsurge in traffic incidents is directly linked to reckless driving, poorly maintained vehicles, not paying attention to traffic rules and dilapidated roads in the countries.
