SCHOONE NOTCHES WIN! ESWEIN BUILDS POINT LEAD WITH WIN!
TIM ANDERSON – KARL GENETT – KYLE HERR – LARRY BOLSTER – CLAIM FEATURE WINS!
Marshfield, WI, (August 5, 2023) – With six divisions of racing competing on Mid-Summer Buck Night, fans were treated to a great night of racing action.
Wisconsin Rapids, WI driver, Mark Eswein, continued his streak of fast times as the pilot of the #71 Jolly Good super late model, earned fast time honors. Darek Gress put his #107.5 car into victory lane for the Chili Implement Six for Six Dash. Branden Sischo grabbed his first checkered flag as a super late model driver, earning the heat win tonight.
For the 35-lap feature event for the super late models, Michael Haggar jumped out to the early lead. Coming to the completion of the first lap, it was #7-11 Jerad DeBoer getting by Haggar for the race lead. DeBoer built a lead over now, second place driver Darek Gress, with Mark Eswein running a strong third place. Caution flew on lap 10, erasing the lead DeBoer enjoyed. On the restart, Darek Gress started outside of DeBoer, and managed to get a good run off the corners, allowing his to clear the #7-11 machine. With Gress out front, Mark Eswein was also able to clear the DeBoer entry, and closed quickly on Gress. On lap 14, Eswein managed to gain the top spot over Gress, as DeBoer held down the third position. As the race progressed, Eswein continued to hold the edge on Gress, going on to win by .709 seconds, winning, yet another, feature at the paved 1/2 mile oval. With DeBoer holding down the third spot, it was John Brevik Classic feature winner Dillon Mackesy fourth, and Brad Gajewski getting a fifth place finish in his sophomore season of slm racing.

There was another great field of cars for the popular Bandit division of racing. Fast time honors tonight went to Ashley Schoone in her #03 4 cylinder modified hot rod. Heat winners tonight were Mark Schoone and Eric Breitenfeldt.
In feature action, Mark Schoone jumping out to the early lead. On lap four, Schoone gave way to a very fast #14 of Eric Breitenfeldt. By lap seven of the 20-lap main event, Ashley Schoone worked her way around last week’s feature winner, Sam Sheahen for the runner up position. With laps winding down, Schoone closed on Breitenfeldt for the race lead. With two laps remaining, Schoone made the pass of Breitenfeldt, which ultimately, would be for the win. With Schoone putting her car in the Solutionz Victory Lane, it was Eric Breitenfeldt finishing a strong second, with Jamie Cliver coming home third in the #57 Tyler Custer prepared car. Rounding out the top five, it was Joey Blaschka having another strong finish coming home fourth, and Tom Lecher, fifth.

Michael Kluck notched another fast time for the 6-Shooters tonight, clocking in at 24.032 seconds. Karl Genett held off Patrick Reeves for the heat win for the 6-Shooters.
Once the 6-Shooters took to the track for their feature event, it was Patrick Reeves jumping out to the early lead. On lap 4, it was Karl Genett working his way around Reeves for the top spot. Genett, who has been racing a part-time schedule, built a 3-car length lead in his #16X car, by lap seven. Randy Komis put his #33 car into the runner up position on lap eight, with Randy Komis riding in the third position. Once Starter Tom Ledin throught the checkered flag, it was all Karl Genett earning the win. With Ryan Bentz grabbing the second spot, it was Randy Komis finishing third.

X-Treme 4’s competed tonight, and it was Mike Meharg tripping the clock fastest with a lap time of 21.937 seconds. Meharg also grabbed the heat win tonight as he edged out Tim Anderson and Anna Price.
In Feature action, Tim Anderson jumped out to a quick lead and never looked back, as he held off a fast Meharg car for the race win. Rylie Mullin grabbed her first podium spot of the year, coming home in third, as Anna Price finished fourth.
The always exciting Skidders put on another fabulous show for the fans. Kyle Herr drifted his way to the race lead with Tommy Weaver running a strong second place. With Herr out front, Mark Hagen grabbed the second spot by lap 5. Jamie Cliver passed Clifton Neubauer on lap 6 for the third spot. In the end, it was Kyle Herr piloting his #715 Skidder to the race win. Mark Hagen and Jamie Cliver finished second and third respectively. Rounding out the top five tonight, it was Jeremiah Apsey fourth, and Ryan Bentz drifting home in fifth.

The Dairyland Vintage Series visited the speedway tonight, and it was Larry Bolster out motoring Darrell Paasch for the heat win. In feature action for the Dairyland Vintage cars, it was #43 Tim Lind jumping out to the early lead. Lind held the top spot until lap five, that was when Sean Herzog put his #21 vintage car to the front. By lap 11, Herzog wasn’t able to hold off a very fast Larry Bolster, as Bolster bolted to the lead. With laps counting down, Bolster was able to keep Herzog in his rear view mirror, as he grabbed the feature win! With Sean Herzog finishing a strong second, and Darrell Paasch finishing third, it was Tim Lind placing fourth, with Travis Hill rounding out the top five.
Next week should prove to be a very exciting evening of racing as the Midwest Trucks visited the 1/2 mile paved oval of Marshfield Motor Speedway. Joining the trucks, it will be the Super Late Models, X-Treme 4’s, Bandits, and the 6-Shooters, also competing. Fan gates open at 5pm, with qualifying at 6pm, and opening ceremonies at 7pm.
