A locksmith from Aligarh, Satya Prakash Sharma, has constructed a 400kg, 10-foot tall lock with intricate imagery of Lord Ram on it. Sharma intends to gift his creation to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The lock cost Sharma about ₹2 lakh to build, an expense he doesn't regret. Despite this, he is looking for contributors who can help him acquire the required steel and brass to finish the lock. The trust is yet to make a decision about receiving the lock, however, the consecration ceremony of the temple, scheduled for January 2024, is fast approaching.
