Emotional tributes to woman, 71, ‘stabbed to death at home’ in West Ashby – as man, 50, is held for ‘murder’
TRIBUTES have poured in for a 71-year-old woman stabbed to death at home in Lincolnshire.
Christine Emmerson was found with stab wounds on Thursday at an address in West Ashby following an “altercation”.
Police raced to the property on Kirk Close at around 12.30pm but the pensioner was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shaun Emmerson, 50, was arrested at the scene and has been charged with Christine’s murder.
He appeared at Lincoln Magistrates Court today and will remain in custody until his next hearing at Lincoln Crown Court on Tuesday.
Christine is yet to be formally identified but her family is being supported by specialist officers.
Following the tragedy, one person wrote on Facebook: “RIP. Delivered Christine’s shopping several times.
“Always had a nice chat with her. Thoughts with the family x.”
Another said: “So very sad. Sincere Condolences to family & friends. RIP Christine Emmerson.”
Adrian Czajkowski of the East Midlands Special Operations Unit said: “Our thoughts remain with Christine’s family and friends and we’re doing all we can to support them at this difficult time.
“We are still appealing for information that can assist with our investigation.”
