A car chase through two Kansas City suburbs that ended in a shootout at a convenience store this weekend has killed a Tennessee man and left an officer from Fairway critically wounded. Lenexa police released the additional details late Sunday. They identified the man as 40-year-old Shannon Wayne Marshall, from the town of Ashland City near Nashville. When officers initially found the vehicle around 7:30 a.m., police said the driver struck a patrol car and fled. A female passenger in the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer. The wounded Fairway officer remained in critical condition as of Sunday night.
