Outnumbered fan shocked as he runs into unrecognisable show star in a Thailand supermarket
AN Outnumbered fan was left gobsmacked as they spotted former child star Daniel Roche in a supermarket in Thailand.
Daniel, who shot to fame at seven playing Ben on the BBC comedy, is now 23 and travelled around South East Asia earlier this year.
In a clip shared online, a very excited fan of the show is seen approaching him in a shop and asking if he is Ben from Outnumbered.
Daniel tells him he is, but the lad keeps questioning him before Googling him and realising it is indeed him.
As he leans in for a hug, he tells Daniel: “You’re steaming.”
Daniel replies: “You’re steaming.”
Just months before Daniel posed with bags of what looked to be marijuana for an online shoot while in Thailand.
The green substance is wrapped in an airtight, sealed silver package.
He wrote: “No case in the Golden Triangle.”
Other snaps show Daniel sitting on a motorbike atop a mountain, posing in a jungle, near a temple and with friends on a night out.
Known to locals as Sop Ruak, the Golden Triangle is the English-language nickname for the hilly, forested area in the north of Thailand, where it meets Laos and Myanmar, and is a travelling hotspot.
The snap comes after Daniel got into hot water in 2017 for chanting ‘ketamine’ at a music festival in a leaked video.
Then 17, The Sun revealed that the actor was filmed wearing a colourful floral garland and smiling as he joined in with revellers shouting out the name of the Class B drug at BoomTown Fair in Winchester.
The year before when he was 16, Daniel was at the centre of an underage drinking storm after he was filmed chugging a beer bong at Reading Festival.
He was filmed on his knees drinking from the bong while crowds around him cheered.
Daniel played Ben on the BBC show from 2007-2014, bagging the role when he was just seven-years-old.
At the height of his acting career, Daniel won a Children’s BAFTA in 2010 for his role in Just William.
Outnumbered followed the fictional Brockman family, starring Hugh Dennis as the father, Claire Skinner as the mother and their three children played by Tyger Drew-Honey, Daniel and Ramona Marquez.
There were five series, which aired on BBC One from 2007 to 2014, with a Christmas special in 2016, and the series now streams on Prime Video.
