Full-Season WeatherTech Entry To Be Revealed At Petit
The full-season entry list for the 2024 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship is set to be revealed at Road Atlanta, during the IMSA State of the Sport conference on October 12th ahead of Petit Le Mans.
The decision to reveal the full-season entry earlier than usual means the entry process has been brought forward too. Teams planning to participate (in GTP, LMP2, GTD PRO and GTD) can submit entry applications for the full WeatherTech Championship season or the (now five-round) IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup season from tomorrow (August 8th).
The deadline for full-season entries and entries for the 2024 Rolex 24 At Daytona will close on Tuesday, Octber 3rd.
“As we experienced coming into the 2023 season, we expect to see an increase in entries for all four WeatherTech Championship classes,” said IMSA President John Doonan.
“All indications are that we will once again receive more entries than we will be able to accommodate. Opening the entry process now enables competitors to better plan for next season and also gives us an opportunity to review and build our entry list much earlier than in previous years.”
In addition, driver applications for the 2024 season will open on Tuesday, September 5th. All drivers planning to compete in the full WeatherTech Championship season or the Rolex 24 At Daytona must submit their applications no later than Tuesday, November 7th.
Entry applications for any teams wishing to compete in single events will be accepted from September 12th.
Entry applications for the 2024 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge and IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge will open following the conclusion of the 2023 season.
This follows the reveal of the IMSA calendars for 2024 last week ahead of the IMSA SportsCar Weekend at Road America.
