Motorcyclist killed in Seymour crash ID’d

A motorcyclist was killed during a crash in Seymour on Sunday.

The accident was reported at about 7:30 p.m. on Great Hill Road, in the area of Country Club Road, where police received the report of a motorcycle versus a pole, according to the Seymour Police Department.

The victim was identified Monday as 28-year-old Michael Marrone, police said.

Seymour police said Marrone was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital where he was pronounced dead around 8:32 p.m.

Marrone, police said, was heading south on Great Hill Road when he left the road and struck a utility pole.

According to police, the investigation into the accident is expected to take some time.
