This has been heavily enhanced by ball tracking technology like Toptracer and Inrange, which have led to increased ball output and higher profits for range owners.
Figures from the R&A 2020 GB&I Golf Participation Report, showed an increase of 2.3 million on-course adult golfers in Great Britain and Ireland. The study also reflects a 25% rise in female participation; a triumph to the sport, and a huge success for grassroots golf and the sports wider social landscape.
We have seen a real surge in the number of golfers playing the sport, and this is reflected by the high demand for tee times and clubs reporting a strong interest in membership.
This has also been reflected at the driving range, and for the first time, off-course golf has overtaken on-course in popularity, data from National Golf Foundation research suggests.
