Police investigating third instance of intruder breaking into homes of Yale students
Police in New Haven are investigating the third instance since May in which a student of Yale University woke up to find an intruder in their residence.
The most recent incident was reported July 23 at about 5:28 a.m. when the student woke up and found an unknown man in their bedroom, according to a statement from Anthony Campbell, chief of the Yale Police Department. The chief said the burglary was reported on Edgewood Avenue between Park Street and Lynwood Place.
The intruder fled the residence without taking anything following an altercation with the student, Campbell said. The victim was not injured and did not require any medical attention, according to Campbell.
The Yale chief said New Haven police are investigating.
The incident last month follows similar instances in May and June.

The student was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital.
On June 20, a Yale graduate student living in an apartment on Mansfield Street woke up at about 3:39 a.m. and found a male intruder in their unit, Yale police said. No weapon was displayed during the burglary and no injuries were reported.
