The United Nations (UN) has alerted the Economic Community of the West African States (ECOWAS) to relook at its sanctions on Niger to ensure Nigeriens do not suffer. Biting sanctions imposed on Niger by ECOWAS following the overthrow of President Mohamed Bazoum include power cut-off as well as the closure of land and air borders.
