Amazon driver’s sat nav fail sees him stuck between two grade II listed buildings

A foolish Amazon driver got into a spot of bother when his sat nav took him down a narrow street where he got stuck.

The driver of the 33-tonne lorry got wedged between two grade II listed buildings in the pretty seaside village of St Agnes, in Cornwall.

Locals in the village said the massive blunder happened shortly before 5pm yesterday.

The lorry has the recognisable logo on the side and travelled down the main road into the village before reaching the tricky point.

A local said he had spoken to the driver who said he was following the supposed accurate instructions of the sat nav.

He said: ‘He wouldn’t reverse and kept driving forward. After about 25 minutes and multiple dents on the vehicle he managed to free the lorry. I hope he hasn’t damaged the grade II listed buildings in the village.’

The resident said similar sat nav fails have happened in St Agnes before, but never one this bad.

He joked: ‘The lovely driver blamed sat nav. Don’t Amazon sell proper sat navs for HGVs?’

This is not the first time a stupid driver has managed to get a vehicle stuck down a narrow lane with small houses.

An unlucky British couple got their massive motorhome stuck down a narrow street while abroad in Spain in March.

The middle-aged holidaymakers had been enjoying a day in the picturesque village of Sorvilan, just south of Granada in Spain.

Luckily a tow-truck and local police came to the couple’s rescue but it took four hours to save them.
