A car accident in northern Afghanistan’s Badakhshan province resulted in the death of one traveller and injuries to four others. The incident occurred when the car overturned, according to officials on Saturday.
In the Yawan District of Badakhshan province, a car flipped due to reckless driving on Friday evening. One person was killed on the spot, and four others were injured in the incident, according to Yar Mohammad, a traffic police officer.
The official said all the injured were taken to the nearby hospital for medical treatment.
In just two days, Afghanistan witnessed its second road accident. The latest incident occurred on Thursday morning, following a previous accident in Helmand Province on Thursday afternoon. Tragically, the earlier accident resulted in the death of one traveller and left 12 others injured.
Experts have pointed out that the rising number of accidents in the country can be attributed to several factors. These include reckless driving practices, the deteriorating condition of roads, congestion on highways, a lack of adherence to traffic rules, and the prevalence of old and potentially unsafe vehicles on the roads.
