Urgent search launched for little Autumn, 3, after her dad flees scene of assault with toddler in the backseat
POLICE are desperately searching for a three-year-old girl after her dad fled the scene of an assault with her in the backseat.
Simon Cooney, from Preston, is wanted by Lancashire Police after a woman was punched in the face and bitten in the early hours of this morning.
The woman got out of the car after the assault and Simon, 35, then fled Kingscote Park, Blackpool about 4am this morning – with little Autumn in the car of the car.
Police are now searching for the pair after finding the car abandoned on Lakeway, Blackpool.
A spokesperson said: “They could have travelled anywhere.”
Simon is described as white, approximately 6ft tall, of slim build, with a shaven head and a beard. He has links to both Blackpool and Preston.
Autumn has shoulder-length, blonde hair.
Insp Stephen Brazil, of Blackpool Police, said: “We are extremely worried about Autumn and need to find her and make sure she is safe as a matter of urgency.
“We also need to locate Simon regarding a nasty assault which occurred in the early hours of today.
“If you see Simon, please do not approach him, but contact us straight away on 999. Similarly, if you see Autumn please tell us immediately by calling 999.
“If you have any information about where they might be, however vague, please tell us by calling 101.”
