MAP: Will Hurricane Idalia hit Tallahassee and FSU?

Tallahassee and the campus of Florida State University are just outside the potential forecast cone of Hurricane Idalia, which is expected to strengthen into a major Category 3 hurricane and approach the Florida coast early Wednesday, according to the National Hurricane Center. The latest forecast cone has the storm going just east of the area.

Hurricane and storm surge watches are in effect along most of the west coast. Gov. Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency for Leon County and 45 others. The Florida State University is posting updates on its website here.
