US Navy awards $2.7 billion contract for helicopters to Sikorsky

BETHESDA, Maryland: Lockheed Martin unit Sikorsky announced that it has been awarded a contract to build 35 additional CH-53K helicopters by the US Navy, worth $2.7 billion.

Making its international debut at the Berlin Air Show in 2018, the CH-53K has three times the carrying capacity of its predecessor.

The agreement also includes delivering 12 US Marine Corps Lot 7 aircraft, 15 Marine Corps Lot 8 aircra
