The obvious answer is that, the battery no longer can hold a charge.

It fully charges but will only work with charger plugged in and then it turns off when I pull the charger out. I might be wrong but it seems like something more than just swapping the battery. I'll keep messing with it tomorrow and if I get no where I will swap it.
