I was paralysed from the waist down in a car accident but now I’ve had a miracle baby with my ‘nurse’
A BRIT left paralysed from the waist down by a road smash has had a miracle baby with his carer.
Expat Aaron Salter, 30, had sperm frozen in the hope of one day meeting the woman of his dreams and starting a family.
Thanks to IVF he now has a daughter with Estrella Garrido, 36, who has managed his care in Spain.
Aaron suffered a fractured spine during a trip to the UK and was told he would never walk again.
He was in a van that crashed in Plymouth, Devon, on his 22nd birthday.
After 18 months in hospital he returned to Spain to stay with his expat dad Les, 72, in the village of Salinas in Valencia.
But Aaron was poorly and practically bed-ridden for nine months.
Spanish family friend Estrella then took charge of his care.
Dog kennels firm boss Aaron said: “I’d known her since childhood. She was amazing, liaising with town hall and other authorities on my behalf.
“She started caring for me and our feelings for each other grew.”
Aaron and beautician Estrella had a daughter named after her a year ago following IVF treatment at a clinic in Alicante.
Estrella said: “IVF worked the first time — we were so lucky!
“Now Estrella Antoinette is our miracle baby.”
