Sports Briefs: Medalist Colpitts leads MA girls golf to narrow win over San Domenico
The Wildcats’ Cameron Colpitts carded a 3-over-par 39 at Peacock Gap as Marin Academy edged San Domenico, 188-191 on Tuesday. Piper Marner added a 48 for Marin Academy (2-0)
San Domenico (0-1) was paced by Nina Bar-Cohen (45) and Mila Dawson (46).
• Redwood and the Branson School played to a dramatic finish Monday at the Meadow Club, as the Giants edged the rival Bulls, 156-157.
Branson’s Lizzy Liu took home medalist honors with a 37, while Anna Han came around at 38, Taylor Bridges and Chloe Branson each carded a 38 for Redwood. The rivals are scheduled to meet again on October 2, just two weeks ahead of the MCAL tournament.
• Ryan Magnusson is picking up where she left off last season after she shot a 3-over-par 39 at the Meadow Club on Monday to lead Archie Williams past Terra Linda, 213-258.
Magnusson, who advanced to the North Coast Section Division I tournament last season, was an All-MCAL first team selection.
The Peregrine Falcons’ Mirabelle Davis followed with a 53, with Kaiya Chiu at 58 and Bea Sharp at 63.
Zohie Betts led Terra Linda with a 56, with Mia Schlotman (61), SImone Dayton (70) and Tara Greany (71) rounding out the field.
