He's a Championship player. You sign a player for what he is going to do not where he comes from.
If you think he is good enough then you offer him the big wage.
I think £12,000 a week basic pay is crazy money. Especially as there will be appearance and goal bonuses on top of that as well as team bonuses.
If he plays, scores, WBA win and are in the top 6 he probably nearly doubles the £12,000
