X Factor star worries fans with pic from hospital bed before surgery – telling them ‘see you on the other side’

X Factor star Rowetta has left her fans concerned after posting a picture from her hospital bed.

The singer, who appeared in the very first series back in 2004, revealed she was having an operation today as she posed in her gown.

Rowetta, now 57, wrote: “Operation day. Hopefully I’ll be all good to Rock & Roll with the boys on Friday! See you on the other side.”

Her fans were quick to send their well wishes, with one person writing: “Good luck lovely lady xx you look amazing all the time even in a hospital gown.”

A second said: “Good recovery Ro. Hope it goes well.”

While a third added: “Sending you so much love and positivity.”

The star first had a taste of fame with the Happy Mondays in the 90s, but impressed Simon Cowell and co with her rendition of Lady Marmalade on The X Factor.

Simon famously branded her “amazing but barking bloody mad”.

Rowetta’s performances in the singing comp earned her glowing reviews and she ended up finishing fourth.

She made it to the quarter-final and was the last woman in the competition, never having had to compete in the show’s sing-off.

In 2015, Rowetta toured with the Happy Mondays again to mark the 25th anniversary of the album Pills ‘n’ Thrills and Bellyaches.
