Multiple flights at Bradley International Airport canceled, delayed due to Hurricane Idalia
Multiple flights were canceled or delayed at Bradley International Airport on Wednesday as Hurricane Idalia made landfall in Florida.
A total of eight flights to and from Florida were canceled as of the early afternoon hours, according to Alisa D. Sisic, spokesperson for Bradley. These involved multiple airline companies, Sisic added.
The flight cancellations were partially due to the Tampa Bay International airport closing Wednesday as Idalia made landfall as a Category 3 storm.
Some flights from Orlando, Florida to Hartford were also delayed Wednesday morning.
Additionally, two flights to and from Savannah, Georgia planned at Bradley International were canceled Wednesday, according to Sisic.
“Further cancellations are possible and passengers are advised to check with their airline to confirm the status of their flight prior to heading to the airport,” Sisic said.
