Emmerdale reveals bombshell truth about Manpreet’s stolen necklace after Victor Anderson’s death
EMMERDALE has revealed the truth about Manpreet Sharma’s stolen necklace with horrifying consequences.
The GP – who is played by actress Rebecca Sarker in the ITV soap – was left devastated when the necklace, a gift from dead ex-husband Rishi Sharma, went missing.
It was later found in the pocket of father-in-law Victor Anderson – but he protested his innocence.
But after Victor’s tragic death last night, Manpreet blamed herself for calling the police and stressing Victor out, leading to his aneurism killing him.
However she was in for a shock when Victor’s son Charles admitted taking it and planting it on his dad.
He told her: “Stealing the necklace, that’s what started it. It was me, I caused it.
“Dad didn’t steal the necklace, I did. I planted it in his pocket and set him up.”
A horrified Manpreet said: “You betrayed your own father. Why would you do that?”
“I had to get him away from us,” insisted Charles.
“He had his claws into mum again. He was ruining our relationship. I thought if you caught him with the necklace, you’d kick him out.
“It was my doing. I was so hellbent on getting rid of him, I wasn’t thinking straight. I know it was wrong. Mum’s mourning her husband thanks to me and the kids have lost their grandfather.
“It wasn’t meant to end like this. Things were bad between us but I never wished him dead. I loved him, you might not think so the way we attacked each other but it’s true.”
By the end of the episode Charles had seen the devastation he had caused his mother and he was guilt-ridden.
“I’m all she’s got,” he told Manpreet.
“If she finds out I’m responsible for dad’s death she’ll leave and she’s got nowhere else to go. She won’t forgive me for it.
“Neither will the kids. I’ll lose everything – my family and my place in the church.”
And fans think he would deserve to.
One wrote: “Could always move away Charles.”
A second said: “Move away, start afresh.”
Another added: “Charles needs to tell his mom the truth.”
