Meanwhile, a suspected Palestinian assailant stabbed an Israeli man in Jerusalem, moderately wounding him before police shot and killed the attacker. Elsewhere in the West Bank, Israeli security forces shot a Palestinian man who they said tried to ram his car into soldiers at a military checkpoint, lightly wounding a soldier. The incidents were the latest escalations in one of the area's most violent phases in years.
