Football fans do a double take after realising who is on Sky Sports Soccer Special for Carabao Cup coverage
FOOTBALL fans were left doing a double take while watching Sky Sport’s Carabao Cup coverage.
That’s after spotting cricket legend Stuart Broad among the pundits for their Soccer Special show.
The iconic bowler called time on his career following England’s Ashes stalemate against Australia.
Broad, 37, has since moved into the world of broadcasting, landing a job with Sky Sports as a cricket pundit.
But he traded sports on Wednesday night as he took a seat on the Soccer Special panel for Sky’s coverage of the Carabao Cup.
Broad found himself rubbing shoulders with favourites like Paul Merson and Alan Pardew as he covered his beloved Nottingham Forest’s clash with Burnley.
And football fans were left doing shaking their heads in disbelief as they struggled to comprehend why Broad was commenting on a different sport to cricket.
One said: “Stuart Broad reporting on a game for Soccer Special. Nothing he can’t do.”
Another declared: “Hang on, why is Stuart Broad doing football coverage? Plus he’s really good.”
One noted: “Is it Stuart Broad? I flicked through before and assumed it couldn’t possibly be him.”

Another added: “Stuart Broad: the poshest person every to appear on Soccer Special.
“Not sure what he’s actually doing on there, neither does Merson.”
Sky Sports announced earlier today that Broad would be making his Soccer Special debut.
Others on the panel included Kris Boyd and Jobi McAnuff.
Pardew almost stole the show after leaving the studio in silence with a story about a row with an owner of one of his former clubs.
