White Sox Fans’ Worst Nightmare is Becoming Reality
According to 670 The Score’s Danny Parkins, the Chicago White Sox will officially announce Chris Getz as the team’s next lead baseball decision maker.
Getz first joined the White Sox front office in 2016. Back in 2021, Getz was promoted to assistant general manager to go along with his player development role. According to Parkins, Getz will be named the new man in charge on Thursday, replacing the fired duo of Kenny Williams and Rick Hahn.
The White Sox drafted Getz in 2005, and he began his MLB career on the south side of Chicago. The former big-league infielder also played for the Kansas City Royals and Toronto Blue Jays, an MLB career that expanded from 2008-14.
Following his playing days, Getz joined the Kansas City Royals front office under then GM Dayton Moore. Last week, USA Today’s Bob Nightengale said Moore would also be brought on by the White Sox and work in some capacity under Getz.
Earlier this week, MLB insider Jon Morosi also reported that the White Sox would likely be promoting from within to take over the front office.
So much for doing an actual search.
Last week, the Pinwheels And Ivy Podcast had in-depth discussion regarding the idea of Getz and Moore coming in. At the time, it was still only seen as speculation, but a week later that nightmare is becoming a reality for White Sox fans.
