This Morning legend looks completely different in throwback snap from 30yrs ago after making show return
JAMES Martin is best known for his various cooking shows and he has a regular slot in the kitchen on This Morning.
However it wasn’t always this way for the ITV chef and he recently reminisced on his past life.
James, 51, the star first rose to prominence in 1996 where he first appeared on programmes such as Ready Steady Cook and The Big Breakfast.
But before this he spent two years as a pastry chef at the prestigious Chewton Glen Hotel.
This was after he had his training at the Hostellerie De Plaisance in Saint-Émilion, France.
The star took to Instagram to share a proud throwback photo from his hotel days.
He appeared on the cover of Caterer & Hotelkeeper magazine in the 90’s where he was holding a tray of delicious looking canapes.
The This Morning personality was looking youthful as he beamed in the centre whilst other waitresses and maître d’hôtel staff holding flutes of champagne surrounded him.
He captioned the photo: “Wow, nearly 30 years ago and …still on the pass.”
And his fans flooded the comments section as they couldn’t believe their eyes at what they saw.
One fan exclaimed: “Wow. You look so young James. Xx.”
A second remarked: “Wow you’ve taken me back to my hotel reception days. .”
“ As good then as now congratulations to be you ,” gushed a third fan.
A fourth noted: “I didn’t realise it was you initially.. thought it was Tom Cruise x.”
Meanwhile a fifth joked: “A lot of butter used since then x.”
And a sixth user added: And you haven’t changed a bit James.”
This comes after he returned to This Morning after what was a tough summer break for the TV personality.
In July 2023, the former Saturday Kitchen star was allegedly warned by ITV following claims that he reduced crew members on his show to tears.
According to US publication Deadline, Martin was “accused of berating people” and “reducing them to tears in front of other colleagues” in May 2023.
As a result, ITV’s Head of Entertainment Katie Rawcliffe is believed to have approached both James and his agent Fiona Lindsay who helps run his production company, Blue Marlin – about the claims.
James since apologised for his alleged conduct as he opened up on one of the “most fraught and difficult periods” of his life which included a shock cancer diagnosis.
