Re: Manchester airport

People forget that airports don't make their money from the airlines - they make a pittance in landing fees. The main revenue streams come from retail and parking - that's their game and why it's far more expensive to eat and drink (and park) at them. Airports measure success in terms of on-site revenue per 1000 visitors.

Re Brum v Manchester debate, don't agree than Manchester is a bad city, but prefer Liverpool. I love referring to Brum as the second city, really boils their piss!

Brum is a fine and upcoming city, just poor at marketing itself. Still there's a few on here (you know who you are) still referring to Birmingham as a "shit hole" so still a long way to go.
