Erik ten Hag broke key Sir Alex Ferguson rule after 3-1 defeat to Arsenal amid Man Utd’s rough start to season
ERIK TEN HAG broke one of Sir Alex Ferguson’s golden rules as he criticised Jadon Sancho last week.
The Manchester United boss and winger had an astonishing public spat following last week’s 3-1 loss at Arsenal.
Sancho, 23, was left out of the Red Devils squad that afternoon.
And Ten Hag revealed afterwards that he was not happy with the England international’s performances in training.
Sancho instantly hit back on social media as he released a statement claiming that his manager’s remarks were “untrue” and that he was being made a “scapegoat”.
Speculation has mounted since that Sancho could soon be leaving Old Trafford and he has been linked with a loan move to former club Borussia Dortmund as well as a switch to Saudi Arabia.
And we reported earlier how the pair are gearing up for showdown talks to sort out Sancho’s United future tomorrow when he returns to training following a break due to the current international matches.
Both Ten Hag and Sancho have been criticised for their actions.
However, now comments made by United’s legendary former manager have resurfaced amid the furore.
And it seems that Ten Hag decided to ignore one of Fergie’s key rules by going public with his criticism of Sancho.

Speaking in 2009, the Scotsman said: “I would not criticise one of my own players publicly.
“When you make public criticism of your players, you damage morale.
“Your job is to keep it (the dressing room) solid.”
