Police request help from multiple departments after Bridgeport shooting incidents
Multiple departments were called in to aid Bridgeport after a number of shootings early Sunday, city officials said.
Multiple 911 calls came in about 1:33 a.m. Sunday reporting a shooting in the 100th block of Fairfield Avenue, according to Scott Appleby, director of the Bridgeport Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security.
Investigators found that at least two people were shot and were taken to local hospitals where their conditions were stabilized, officials said.
Mutual aid was requested with police departments from Westport, Milford, Trumbull, Stratford, Monroe and Connecticut State Police responding to the scene, Appleby said.
No further information was immediately provided about the shooting.
At 3:32 a.m., police were alerted to two ShotSpotter activations on Highland Avenue followed by multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired and possible blood trails.
Bridgeport police and AMR were dispatched and located a victim suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds on the 100th block of Center Street, police said.
In addition, Bridgeport Hospital told police a gunshot victim entered their ER from a private vehicle with unknown injuries, according to police.
