In racing this weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the fan-favourite T-Rex will again sub for her brother, Rexy, the green Porsche as he begins his long journey home from Japan’s 6 Hours of Fuji in the World Endurance Championship.
“The introduction of Roxy at VIRginia International Raceway ended up being our best finish of the year,” said team manager and driver Gunnar Jeannette. “We’re excited to see what Roxy can do across the famous yard of bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway!”
JDC Porsche to make Rennsport appearence
JDC-Miller MotorSports has confirmed that it will display its IMSA GTP Porsche 963 at the Rennsport Reunion 7 event on September 28 through Oct. 1. The car will be in Garage 11 of the Legends display.
Rennsport Reunion 7 is on track to be the biggest Porsche gathering ever. More than 80,000 fans attended Rennsport Reunion 6 in 2018 and more are expected to attend over the four days this year.
“JDC-Miller MotorSports is honoured to be asked to participate in this incredible event,” said John Church, Managing Partner, JDC-Miller MotorSports.
“This will be my first Rennsport and I am very much looking forward to being part of it. When I was young my father had a 911 Targa so Porsche has been in my blood for a very long time.
Being a racing and Porsche fan all my life makes being immersed in all this history just incredible. We have made so many Porsche friends over the past year or so and this just takes that to another level. I look forward to meeting many more of the Porsche family at Rennsport.
“This is my first Porsche. I am now a member of the Porsche Club of America and our local Region, Nord Stern. We have hosted open houses for Nord Stern since 2016 so the relationship is not new.
We also have a strong working relationship with our local dealers, Porsche Minneapolis and Porsche St. Paul.”
Franchitti takes Ferrari movie role
Ex-British GT Champion and Sebring 12 Hours overall winner Marino Franchitti has been embracing his inner Italian with a role in the forthcoming new ‘Ferrari’ movie where he plays the part of Eugenio Castelotti.
There’s another parallel with the movie, which chronicles the emergence of Enzo Ferrari as a world-leading figure in the automotive and motorsport fields, as Marino drove a Maserati 250F at the Goodwood Revival last weekend, the same car campaigned by rival Jean Behra in the movie.
M Bedded Part 2
Part 2 of BMW’s ‘M Bedded’ documentary, which tells the story of motorcycle legend Valentino Rossi at BMW M Motorsport, has been released on YouTube.
Following the events in Part 1, the second episode lets you relive Rossi’s biggest victory in a race car so far – at his home event in Misano. An extremely emotional experience for everybody. After that, Rossi takes the BMW M Team WRT to his own Motocross track.
