Rating agency Icra has revised its growth estimate for the Indian steel industry to 9-10% for this fiscal year, up from the initial estimate of 7-8%. The increase is attributed to robust government capital expenditure. The domestic steel demand has been growing in double digits since FY2022, with a growth of 13.1% recorded between April and August this fiscal year.
