Oakland: Family identifies mother of five who was stabbed to death in unsolved homicide
OAKLAND — A 54-year-old woman has been identified as the person whose badly decomposed body was discovered in a residential neighborhood last month.
Senne Monique Casey, of Oakland, was stabbed to death last month by a yet-to-be-identified person, police say. Her nude body was found wrapped in a blanket on the 2700 block of 79th Avenue in Oakland on Aug. 14.
A GoFundMe page for Casey, launched by her eldest daughter, describes her as a dedicated mother and grandmother who had five children and was recently able to “get herself together” after a long struggle with addiction.
“Our mom’s greatest blessing was her children, and grandchildren. She loved us so much, and wanted to be the best mom she could be for all of us and she was proud of us,” the GoFundMe page says.
Police say they’re investigating several leads but have yet to make an arrest or publicly identify a suspect. They also haven’t said whether she was killed in the area or dumped there after being fatally stabbed in another location.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the killer. Anyone with information about the woman or a suspect is asked to call homicide investigators at 510-238-3821 or 510-238-7950 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
