Great British Bake Off 2023 start date revealed and it’s just days away
THE Great British Bake Off’s return date has been confirmed – and it starts in just a few days.
Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith are back to judge a new batch of contestants’ creations.
The beloved Channel 4 programme will be hosted by Noel Fielding, alongside new presenter Alison Hammond.
Ans fans don’t have to wait long until they see the big tent again, with the show launching in just a matter of days.
Bosses have confirmed the series begins on Tuesday 26th September at 8pm.
Prue, 83, revealed the exciting news on X (formerly Twitter) today.
She said: “The Bake Off team is back on Tuesday 26th September at 8pm. Join us in the tent for lots of laughter.”
Fans have been left delighted, with one saying: “Just cried actually tears.”
A second said: “Oh yes! Let’s go, people! Let’s go!”
“I’ve never been more excited for an announcement in my life,” said a third.
While a fourth commented: “Mark your calendars! I am so excited.”
This year bosses have revealed a major change to the new series which will see controversial tasks axed following a backlash.
Last year viewers accused the show of “cultural appropriation” after Mexican Week aired.
The episode saw the hosts at the time, Matt Lucas and Noel Fielding, wear ponchos and sombreros while holding maracas and making many puns.
The duo joked about not being able to make ‘Juan’ joke about Mexico on the Channel 4 programme.
But, those at home watching didn’t appreciate the episode and slammed the show for using “racist stereotypes”.
