Major crash shuts down Vasco Lane near border of Contra Costa, Alameda counties
A big rig and van crashed Wednesday on a major bypass road that connects Contra Costa and Alameda counties, the California Highway Patrol said.
Few details were available immediately, but the CHP said the crash had shut down both lanes of Vasco Road just north of the counties’ border. The crash first was reported about 10:55 a.m.
It was unknown how long both lanes would be closed. The CHP advised motorists to avoid the area and to use alternative routes.
At least one person was hospitalized, according to the CHP.
