Dr. Martens Celebrates 10 Years of Jadon Boots With Marc Jacobs
Dr. Martens is collaborating with Marc Jacobs once again to reinvent the iconic Jadon boot. The rework is part of a larger collection in celebration of the boot style’s 10th anniversary.
Following up the success of the duo’s previous collaborations, the new and improved Jadon’s silhouette was left untouched in order to respect the 90s-inspired style’s heritage.
The glossy leather upper was offered a personal touch through Jacobs’ use of charms and keepsakes, offering the boot an ornate and whimsical quality. Rounding out the new style, the Jadon style is finished with dual-branded tongue and swing tags.
Dr. Martens x Marc Jacobs’ collaborative Jadon boot will be available for purchase on Sept. 15 at both brands’ websites.
Founded in 1947, Dr. Martens is a German-founded British footwear and apparel brand with individuality at its core. The company originally began making humble workwear boots and even sold their wears as gardening shoes at one point. The inventor of Dr. Martens Klaus Marten was a doctor in the German Army during World War II. The brand’s name references the inventor’s former profession.
The shoe style we know today was created in Germany and became a huge part of popular culture. The brand’s iconic yellow-stitched footwear was massive in the grunge and punk scene in the ’90s, and has since become a closet staple for many generations.
