I’m a beauty pro – 5 issues making you look older, the wrong lipstick can be aging but a jawline problem is easy to fix
A BEAUTY guru has pinpointed the most common mistakes that most people don’t even realize are aging them more rapidly.
She shared the age-defying secrets she had up her sleeve in an effort to look more youthful.
“Five things that are making you look older,” said Nicole Smith (@lipsandlattes).
As she began waving her own hair, she gave the first aging issue on the list – your outdated hairstyle.
“The hair theory is real. And this is the idea that people perceive you differently based on how you style your hair,” she said.
In order to stay clear of this hairy situation, she advised others to keep up with the latest hair trends.
The next troublesome apect she wanted to tackle was shadowing on your face.
“Your tear troughs, your smile lines, and your marionette lines are the most common areas where you’re going to see shadows,” she explained as she used a brush to point out each problem spot.
In order to stay clear of looking tired, sad – and older – she advised getting small amounts of filler in these areas to improve the light reflection.
No more smile lines indeed gave the beauty pro something to smile about.
Of course, only those who want to look “more rested and much younger” need to pay attention.
She also blames having kids for adding those aging lines.
“Physical demands of raising kids and childbirth definitely has wear and tear on your body.”
Acknowledging that childrearing is no easy task, she explained that “stress accelerates aging.”
At least one follower could heartily agree on this factor that she would move to the top of the looking older list.
“I would literally say raising kids. The only common denominator with my friends who look older is they had children,” she said.
Number four: don’t look down.
Bad posture will not do anyone any favors when it comes to fighting the aging process.
She also had a jarring fact about your jawline.
“Looking down, staring at your phone is not a good look for your jawline. We don’t notice the angles that other people see us at.”
According to Nicole, you are most certainly making yourself look years beyond your age if you have a double chin and are on your phone in public.
Finally, she wants everyone to be finished with their matte lipstick.
“It just makes your lips look dry, dehydrated, and shows all your lip lines.”
Instead, she advises people to use a hydrating lip gloss – or a little bit of lip filler – for a plumper, and more youthful pout.
“You nailed it,” said another inspired viewer of the lifesaving tips.
